042017_3As a busy, mature woman with many demands on your time, it is easy to get tense and frazzled.

Sometimes when you really need to unwind and relax, you go to a day spa or leave your home for some R&R time. However, there are things you can do at home to create that same feeling of total relaxation. Here are my tips to help you relax at home.

  1. Create a quiet corner – no electronics, mood lighting and comfy seating.
  2. Go green with a few plants. Studies have shown that just by touching an indoor plant can prompt a relaxation response.
  3. Get some scents – certain scents can automatically cause relaxation or change your mood such as lavender.
  4. Mood music – depending on the mood you want to create.
  5. Drink relaxing teas such chamomile.
  6. Do some deep and peaceful breathing or meditate.
  7. Water helps relaxation – a table top fountain or even a relaxing bath.
  8. Get your partner to give you a massage – if you are lucky – or maybe your partner will get lucky!!!
