You have a dream within. One you have had for many years. When you lay in bed at night you think about your new lifestyle. You imagine how wonderful life will be and how good you will feel, doing every day what you have always wanted to do. You can see, smell, hear and touch all the wonderful things associated with your new dream lifestyle.
So what is holding you back from pursuing your dream? Although you may not realise it, you’re not nearly as far away from being where you want to be as you think you are. Did you know that the only thing holding you back is you? You have the power to achieve your dream. You are all you need to be. You are enough! You are talented enough ….. You are smart enough ….. You are wealthy enough ….. You are resourceful enough …. You are attractive enough ….. …..to pursue your dream.
You, like many women, hold onto many limiting beliefs. You allow these beliefs to control what you think, how you communicate and how you act which affects the life you lead. “You are what you think” – source unknown.
For several years I stayed in a job that did not challenge or give me any satisfaction. Why? Because I didn’t think I was capable, or ‘enough’ to pursue my dream – to become a professional speaker and trainer. I had allowed my employers to rob me of my self confidence and believed the ‘stories’ they were telling. It was only when my financial situation at this firm changed that I decided to take on the challenge of beginning my new business.
The moment you choose to let go of your limiting beliefs you will have the courage to make the changes necessary to begin pursuing your dream lifestyle. One of my favourite sayings/verses, speeches (unsure what this is called) -
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
~ Marianne Williamson
Now is the time to take action on your dream!
Note: This quote is often found on the Internet incorrectly credited to Nelson Mandela from his Inauguration Speech, 1994, especially the last sentence of that quote, “As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
